Our Mission and Charter
Our mission is to support and promote the visual arts as a vital ingredient of the unique and diverse society of the Bay Area. We help both emerging and professional artists connect with other artists and art lovers throughout the Bay Area, as well as assisting the efforts of other Bay Area arts and charitable organizations.
Silicon Valley Visual Arts, Inc, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts throughout Silicon Valley and peninsula communities from Burlingame to Gilroy.
Silicon Valley Visual Arts, Inc. was established in 1999 as the producer of Silicon Valley Open Studios, which had been operating as an independent organization since 1986. Silicon Valley Open Studios was started with the idea that art lovers and the general public could gain a better appreciation for the great art created in this region by visiting local artists in their own private studios. The annual Silicon Valley Open Studios, sponsored by Silicon Valley Visual Arts, is the largest artist event of the Bay Area when, for three unforgettable weekends, artists open their studios to art lovers and art buyers for an up-close and personal look into their creative process.
