Our Mission
Our mission is to support and promote the visual arts as a vital ingredient of the unique and diverse society of the Bay Area. We help both emerging and professional artists connect with other artists and art lovers throughout the Bay Area, as well as assisting the efforts of other Bay Area arts and charitable organizations.
History
Silicon Valley Visual Arts, Inc, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN: 77-0498110) dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts throughout Silicon Valley and peninsula communities from San Bruno to Gilroy to the pacific coast area. (990EZ Filing)
The organization was established in 1999 as the producer of Silicon Valley Open Studios with the idea that art lovers and the general public could gain a better appreciation for the great art created in this region by visiting local artists in their own private studios. The annual Silicon Valley Open Studios is the largest artist event of the Bay Area when, for three unforgettable weekends, artists open their studios to the community and art buyers for an up-close and personal look into their creative process.
Silicon Valley Visual Arts also supports artist by finding and hosting exhibition opportunities, developing artist who want o do art as a business through educational classes and resources, and providing online gallery for artist throughout the year.
We actively seek business, individual and organizational partners and supports of the arts to help us build a community for artists and patrons to connect and continue to provide opportunities for local artists.
