RUTH WATERS — 36 YEARS

“When we travel to Europe, or Asia, or New York, even San Francisco, what do we go see? The art. That’s how we evaluate countries and cities: their culture, and especially their art.” Ruth never takes the “easy route” in her art. She creates beautiful sculptures out of trees and large limbs. She does it all with a chisel and mallet using nothing but sand paper and her strong might to hone each work. Her artwork is in many private collections. Ruth has been instrumental in helping Artists’ communities start up from Virginia to California. She has worked with other “visionaries” that have helped create Silicon Valley Open Studios. She is now working on her latest endeavour as ArtZone 1, the new Peninsula Art Foundation located at the Tanforan Mall in San Bruno. Ask Ruth about the “road that got her here!” You won’t be disappointed.

NANCIE CROWLEY — 27 YEARS

After receiving a Master of Arts in Fine Art, Nancie’s emphasis has always been on the oils in her “Treehouse Studio”. She taught Life Drawing for many years, as well as Painting the Clothed Figure. Gradually, as she began traveling internationally, her best adventures in paint included more villagescapes and landscapes plus contour line drawing. She enjoys working in her masterfully designed art studio, named the “Treehouse Studio” and loves to open it up to the public, exclusively for SVOS exhibits, which is now going on 27 years. Nancie invites you to take a tour through her website and visit her studio during the 2022 Silicon Valley Open Studios event.

KEVYN WARNOCK — 26 YEARS

Kevyn’s landscapes demonstrate a solid compositional foundation along with a sensitive distillation and rendition of what her artist’s eye perceives. The paintings work on several levels and seem to reveal fresh insights on each successive viewing. Kevyn has shown her work widely throughout the Peninsula as well as having achieved acceptance in several major Bay Area shows and national competitions. Her work is represented in many corporate and private collections. Ms. Warnock maintains a studio in Burlingame where her work can be seen at annual events and by appointment.
